Landed safely in Detroit! London was wonderful but I can’t wait to sleep in my own bed tonight. Before I pass out I want to share my Eddie story with you.
Friday night Ivonne (from eddie-redmayne.net) and I went to see Richard II. Five star. Beautiful. Intense. Eddie gave an amazing performance - no surprise there. We waited after the show to meet him as well as give him the birthday book (thanks again to all the fans that submitted birthday wishes).
When he came over to us I told him we run his fan site(s). He was happy to meet us and believe it or not, expected us. After that rough first review came out of his Richard II performance he was feeling a bit low and an interviewer asked him if he knew about our sites so he checked them out and they lifted his spirits :’) (He specifically mentioned “the .net and the iloveeddieredmayne”…!) Then he handed us the beautiful bouquet of flowers pictured above that he got for us (because we had on the site when we would be going.) WHAT? CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT??!!
We gave him the book filled with birthday wishes from his fans all around the world and he loved it. Said something along the lines of, “This is fucking amazing!” After chatting for a minute he was off to a family birthday dinner.
We saw the matinee the next afternoon with Tracy and Celyn and talked to him again after the show. Tracy gave him a birthday cake she promised him (he was very excited about it!) He signed my Richard II poster (above) and took pictures with us. He thanked us again for the book very sincerely. He is such a lovely human being.
Eddie, thank you for the flowers. (I really should have thanked you again on Saturday.) You have so many fans that support you completely. I love the fact that you know about this website and it doesn’t creep you out!
